At DJ Amped, every lesson is shaped around your child’s personality and pace. Whether they’re shy, high-energy, neurodivergent, or totally new to music, I create a relaxed, supportive space where kids can explore DJing their own way.
No rigid rules, just creativity, encouragement, music and fun (plus disco lights to set the vibe)!
What They’ll Learn (All Gear Provided)
Music & DJ Skills:
- How a DJ setup works: hands-on with decks, knobs, sliders and buttons
- Understanding music structure: bars, beats, phrases, breakdowns & drops
- Beatmatching, cueing, looping, transitions and mixing
- Creative effects and EQ
- Using headphones like a pro
DJ Software – Pick Your Platform:
- Rekordbox – Industry standard for Pioneer decks
- Serato DJ – Popular with laptop DJs using controllers
- Engine DJ – Used with Denon Prime standalone systems
Music Collection & Preparation:
- How and where to find DJ-friendly tracks
- Organising music by genre or mood
- Creating playlists for parties or practice
- Bring a USB – I’ll preload it with a few of their favourite songs to get started
Pro-Level DJ Gear (All Provided):
- Pioneer CDJ-3000 + DJM-A9 mixer – Club-standard setup used worldwide
- Denon Prime Go – Portable, battery-powered standalone system
- Pioneer DDJ-SB3 – Beginner-friendly controller used with a laptop
No need to bring gear – everything’s provided.
Optional: bring your own wired headphones (¼ inch jack preferred) – I have spares too.

1-hour guided lesson + 20 mins supported solo time

Perfect for friends who want to mix and learn together

2-hour shared lesson + 30 mins supported solo time (15 mins each)
